Someone help me make some money as my picks have been rubbish! Ha….have to go back to the drawing board i think.

h? Seems as though, with the subprime situation especially, stocks are being purchased randomly, with total disregard for news, making stock picking nearly impossible to do unless you are an "insider" and many companies are selling extra stock on good news keeping their prices steady without gains on that news! Have the rich found a way to insider trade each other and make the lesser rich stay that way all their lives, with guesses being only as good as a megabucks ticket?

The above have had the top performance ranging from 20-45% in one week but price rang is lower than $20.
Apple and others while much stable in long term might have a good return given the recent news about running Windows on Apple computers. Other tech companies might be Microsoft with the new IPTV and Vista and the X Box sales. also with the PS3 of Sony, a good investment would be the game manufacturers as the sales might run higher once the release is set.

Long story short I want to learn all about the stock market. The thing is I'm an idiot to it aside from the fact, Buy low, Sell high. I would appreciate all the details possible. IE websiteS, Books, (idoits guide/for dummies), etc… I'll pick the one who has the most information, a plus is the quality of the information. THank you for your time and patience in this matter.

I would like to get live (ish) Stock Market info to stream on my deasktop. I really need to be able to pick which shares it shows. Also I can't actually install anything as I don't have admin priviledges on this machiene.
